- Primary Years
Our classrooms are spacious and sunny. Decorated to inspire a desire for learning, they ring with the clear voices of our students.
The Early Years section takes students aged two-and-a-half to five, in spaces dedicated to study and play. Large and luminous, our classrooms help youngest children in their education and their creative activities.
The educational activities use the indoor and outdoor spaces of our school and offer experiences aimed at stimulating students’ interest in order to achieve more effective learning. Children are encouraged to develop a positive attitude towards learning that will remain with them throughout their lives.
The language fo instruction is English and are the classes are divided into two phases
- Kindergarten (aged two-and-a-half to 4).
- Transition (aged 4 to 5).

Our IB programs give our students the skills they need to forge a successful and exciting future.
From the age of 3 to the age of 11, students at the International School of Modena follow the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (IBPYP), a programme based on inquiry and which places the child at the centre of the learning process, enabling him/her to acquire all the concepts proposed. In an active and stimulating study environment, our students face up to significant themes and subjects. They are encouraged to act, applying what they study and learn, even outside the school, in their daily activities.
IS Modena provides its students with modern structures, large classrooms and extensive green areas equipped for sport and outdoor classes. In addition, there is the well-stocked library, smartboards for teaching and WIFI throughout the structure. Each PYP class forms a strong, positive and collaborative community, one that, together with the teachers, provides students with a teaching structure that enables them to pose questions for themselves aimed at understanding concepts and the world around them.

The Primary Years Programme of the International Baccalaureate prepares students to face the challenges of the future. It concentrates on developing the whole student, inside and outside the classroom.
